Wealth I-II (2019) is a paper collage work on linen fabric. It is made from photos of tiny sculptures which were excavated from the ancient city of Gryneion around the 1800s. The use of excessive fabric on the depiction of dresses on these figurines give an idea about class. Indeed, ancient remains usually depict wealthy individuals. The work is part of the series History of a particular nameless creek (2019) that Deniz produced for the 16th Istanbul Biennial. The series is an attempt at geo-history whereby Deniz tells the story of the nameless creek around which she grew up.
