History of a particular nameless creek [Portraits I-II-II]

Acrylic on canvas, 33 x 44 cm, Istanbul, 2019

Portraits I-II-III (2019) is a continuation of the artist’s wish to depict animals as unique individuals through portraiture, which started with Raven Portraits (2018). The work consists of the portraits of a seahorse, a common bird and a peregrine. These animals lived around the nameless creek around which the artist has spent her childhood, and which is the main subject of the series History of a particular nameless creek (2019), produced for the occasion of the 16th Istanbul Biennial.
