History of a particular nameless creek ["Insignificants"]

Various seeds, freshwater molluscs, sea urchin shells, creek stone (11 pieces) 12,5 x 20 cm each, Istanbul, 2019

"Insignificants" (2019) refers to vastly ignored existence of small beings. The politics of size is the main idea for the artist. She aims to bring to our attention the unimportant, or rather to give it back its importance. The work questions the hierarchical ways of attributing value to things. The work is part of the series History of a particular nameless creek (2019) that Deniz produced for the occasion of the 16th Istanbul Biennial.
